• For verification purposes - me at the start of the Sutherland Trail in Tongue
  • Descending down into Strathmore Glen i spied a nice beach for a campsite and a paddle in Loch Hope
  • Ben Hope is an option on the trail
  • First night's camp by Loch Hope and suprisingly few midges
  • Dun Durniagil Iron age brooch (fort 2000 yrs old)
  • Looking back along Strathmore Glen at Ben Hope on a sunnier day
  • Day two's route going over the pass to the far right
  • Cheese! better sharpen up matey
  • Looking east
  • Second days destination the well named Lone
  • Very small in the background is Suilven which i'd pass on the fith day
  • Down into Kylesku, civilisation and food
  • Picture does not do this view down Loch Glendu justice - think Norwegian Fjord
  • Glas Bheinn belach - day four's obstacle
  • In the cloud. About to go over the Glas Bheinn belach (pass) the weather was about to go from brisk to mental
  • approaching Suilven on the last day
  • By the time i got to Suilven my camera had died. This pic was taken 3 months earlier on a spring evening. The sunshine made the mountain glisten. It is a bit farther away than i was on the trail.
  • This the kind of view you can expect if you decide to climb Suilven
  • Lochinver Bay
  • Looking rough but feeling great in Inverness
  • John and Oliver. They are from Limmerick in Ireland and have travelled to twenty two countries, and all over Scotland, with the coolest and most powerful evangelist technique i have experienced. John told me "People may laugh but tonight when they are alone the Lord will remind them of what they saw". Bet they have stories to tell.
